Market News: Pretty Kitty published in Contrary Cats anthology

Extremely happy to see Contrary Cats by Indigo Mosaic Collections come out, including my ghost story set in the UK, 'Pretty Kitty'.

It is always a pleasure to sell stories to publishers in other countries, especially when they are set in those countries, but I also like this story more than most of my creations. I think it is creepy.

Anyway, the book will spider out into online stores very soon, but you can buy a copy now here.

Market News: The Wooden Tomb in Frost Fire Worlds 2

This took me by surprise. I knew my story was due to be published in November, but on a whim I double checked the site, and lo and behold! my story, The Wooden Tomb, is in Frost Fire World issue 2. Very pleased to have published this, as it is a little different – coming of age in an African village, a little bit of horror, and lot of fantasy. It's nice to have found a home for this story dear to my heart.

Market News: short story, ‘The Deluge’, accepted for Black Beacon: Brisbane anthology

Pleased to have my short story, 'The Deluge' accepted by new Queensland publishing house, Black Beacon Books, for their Black Beacons: Brisbane anthology. This is a pleasing sale, as it is local, and it is a tale that came to me vividly, inspired by the Brisbane floods a few years ago.

Market News: novelette, ‘The Strange Case of the Frozen Revenant’ in Penny Dread Tales IV anthology

Very pleased to have my steampunk western novelette, 'The Strange Case of the Frozen Revenant', accepted in Runewright's Penny Dread Tales IV. This means I have had a short piece of fiction published in every single volume, which is a good feeling. This novelette is a reprint – it was first published in 3 parts in Tonia Brown's Story Station interlude to her Railroad! serial. The work was a lot of fun to write as it isn't dark and has light moments – something very refreshing. And I think it's a pretty good story anyhow. Stay tuned on a publication date.

While I have your attention, I have had a short story accepted last night to an Australian anthology – more information when I'm allowed to divulge.

Market News: ‘Of The Color Turmeric, Climbing On Fingertips’ and ‘Hills’ sold.

Extremely pleased to have 'Of The Color Turmeric, Climbing On Fingertips' sold to Night Terrors III anthology, a pro market by Blood Bound Books. The anthology will be published in 2014. This is my first pro sale, and things can only get better from here, now that I have reached that milestone.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all my friends, online and otherwise, who strongly supported and believed in me, including me in their writing communities, and often in publications, representing faith in my writing. They far outweigh those who didn't. This sale is a validation of my friends' faith.

Additionally, a dark, humorous flash fiction piece, 'Hills', has been accepted by AntipodeanSF – which is a bit of a rite of passage in Australia, again a validation. This short piece will be published in issue 185 in November 2013, and shortly thereafter I will read my piece for radio/podcast. Something I look forward to.

All in all I am very pleased. Three significant market acceptances in 1 month, continuing my 1+ acceptance per month rate for the last 3 years.

Market News: ‘The Lucky Mouth’, a Lovecraftian short story, to be published in Bleed

Happy to announce that my Lovecraftian short story, 'The Lucky Mouth', has been accepted for publication in Bleed, a children's charity anthology (although the story is hardly fit for a child). This is a reprint, and since it is one of my favourite pieces, I am glad to see it published again, and for such a worthy cause. More information as it come in.
